When the pandemic disrupted small businesses across Los Angeles, Carlos Cordoba saw not just economic uncertainty — he saw a chance to serve. Guided by a commitment to uplift underserved communities, he founded Sherpa Marketing Solutions, a minority-owned, Los Angeles–based agency focused on helping small businesses strengthen their marketing and digital presence.
From day one, Sherpa combined senior-level expertise with the flexibility of a certified small business enterprise, offering branding, digital strategy, and community-focused marketing services to both private companies and public agencies. Their mission was simple but powerful: help small businesses not merely survive, but grow.
A key milestone came when Carlos partnered with The Valley Economic Alliance. Through this relationship, Sherpa joined large-scale marketing initiatives designed to spotlight local businesses at a time when visibility was critical. His focus on Hispanic-owned and other historically underserved firms wasn’t just professional — it was personal, rooted in a drive to empower communities that often face systemic barriers.
As Sherpa grew, Carlos recognized the need to compete for larger public-sector opportunities. To build that capacity, he enrolled in the Connect to Contracts (C2C) Accelerator, a program delivered by The Valley Economic Alliance and PACE. The hands-on training, guidance, and pro-bono support gave Sherpa the knowledge and confidence needed to navigate procurement, develop stronger proposals, and compete at a higher level.
In 2024, Sherpa achieved a major milestone: the company was awarded a City of Los Angeles contract to provide digital marketing services — including website development and social media coaching — to 200 local businesses, bringing Sherpa’s mission full circle.
